We’re currently seeking an experienced Housing Officer to join a well-respected Housing Association based in the Scottish Borders on a short-term contract to support the team during a busy period.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in housing management to make an immediate impact within a supportive and community-focused organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Rent Arrears Management
Proactive management of rent accounts, working closely with tenants to prevent and recover arrears, and taking appropriate action where necessary.
* Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Management
Responding to and investigating reports of ASB, liaising with relevant partners to resolve issues and support residents.
* Empty Homes Management
Ensuring void properties are turned around efficiently, coordinating repairs, and supporting swift lettings to minimise void loss.
* Estate Management
Regular estate inspections, identifying and resolving issues, working closely with maintenance teams, contractors, and residents to maintain safe and pleasant communities.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a similar Housing Officer role
* Strong working knowledge of relevant housing legislation and best practice
* Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and
problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and manage a busy patch effectively
* Driving license and access to a vehicle may be required due to the rural nature of some locations
